Philippines Visa on Arrival for Indian Citizens, Requirements, Visa Fees

How Indians can travel to the Philippines and get a Visa on Arrival in the Philippines

Types of Tourist Visa of Philippines

Before starting this blog, I want to clarify that the Philippines gives 2 types of tourist visas to Indian Citizens..

  • Pre-Arrival Visa (Sticker Visa) - This is also called as 9(a) tourist visa by the Bureau of Immigration Philippines, and you can take this visa by submitting your visa application form in any of the Philippines Embassy or Consulate in India and can pay the visa fees for the visa and they will give you a Sticker visa of Philippines and you will have a visa of Philippines before arriving in the Philippines and that's why its called Pre Arrival Visa..
  • On Arrival Visa (Stamp Visa) - The meaning of On Arrival visa is that, if you have full filled all the requirements for the Philippines visa on arrival then you don't need to secure a Pre-Arrival visa of the Philippines and you don't need to go through a very hassled process of submitting a lot of documents like ITR, Bank Statements and all, and you will get a visa on arrival when you arrive in the Airports of Philippines, Visa on arrival is easier than taking a Sticker Visa..

Let's Start our Blog now..

So Guys, Many of the Indians want to travel to the Philippines for tourism purposes but the visa requirements of the Philippines for Indian passport holders are too much and it's hard for Indian tourists to full fill the Sticker Visa requirements of the Philippines. And the Philippines government noticed it and they decided to give a Visa on Arrival to that Indian tourist who has a valid multiple entry visa or permanent residence permit of any of these countries, which are UK, US, Singapore, Japan, Canada, Australia, or any other visa of Schengen area..

Taking Sticker Visa of Philippines is not so Hard

So, First of all, guys, Taking the Pre-Arrival visa of the Philippines is not as hard as you think, Many of the YouTubers says in their video that getting a Sticker visa of Philippines is like very hard, according to those YouTubers, taking Philippines visa is as hard as making a Rocket Engine, But getting a Visa of Philippines with the Embassy is not so hard if you have your all documents clear, I know the visa requirements are a bit hard because we have to present a copy of Bank Statement, Income Tax Return, Employeemnt letter, GST registration number, and a lot of other requirements which is hard to full fill for most of the Indian tourists, and they are looking to get into the Philippines with minimum requirements and that's why everyone is searching for the Visa on Arrival Facility, Stricket visa is hard to get but it has its own advantages about which we will talk later in this blog..

Philippines Visa on Arrival Requirements for Indian Citizens

Philippines Visa on Arrival Requirements are not as much as Sticker Visa requirements but still, there are a few documents that you have to present to the Immigration officer in order to get the Visa on Arrival of the Philippines...

  • Passport - Of Course, you will need a Passport to travel abroad, so for the Philippines visa on arrival, your Passport must be valid for at least six (6) months, and it must have 2 Empty pages for the visa on arrival stamp..
  • Used or Un-used Multiple Entry Visa or Permanent Residence Permit of any of these countries that are UK, US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan or of Schengen Area - In order to get a Visa on Arrival in the Philippines on an Indian Passport, You must have a Multiple Entry Visa (used or unused) of any of those countries mentioned above or Residence Permit of those countries and remember one thing that you must have a Multiple Entry visa of those countries to get a VOA of Philippines and if you have single entry visa of those countries then you will not get a VOA..
  • Return Flight Tickets - This is the third requirement, that you must have a confirmed return ticket to show that when you are going out from the Philippines and if you cant present a return flight ticket because you are not coming back to India then you can also show an onward ticket to prove the officer that you will get out of the Philippines under your duration of stay.. One thing to remember is that, Do Not Show Dummy Tickets, if you will show dummy tickets then the officers can easily see your flight ticket and can check its confirmation on the Airline's website so don't try to present a dummy ticket, Immigration officers are smarter than us..
  • Hotel Bookings - The next thing is that you must have booked the hotel before arriving in the Philippines and it's recommended that you book a Pre Paid Hotel instead of paying at the hotel while checking in, so you must have the hotel bookings, (Prepaid is not necessary but recommended)..
  • You must not have any derogatory record with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration - This is not a requirement but it is a rule that if you have been deported from the Philippines any time in the past or have any derogatory record with the Philippines Bureau of Immigration then they will reject your visa on arrival and will deport you again to your home country..
  • Your recent 2 coloured passport size photographs with white background - You must have your passport-sized photographs and the important thing to remember is that your background on the pic must be white, and your ear, face shoulder must be visible and if you wear glasses then you must remove it before taking your picture..

So, These were the only 6 Requirements that you have to full fill to get the Visa of Arrival of the Philippines on an Indian Passport.

Philippines visa on arrival by Singapore visa

Getting a Visa of Other Countries like UK, US, Canada, Australia, Japan is not a joke for Indian citizens but getting a Multiple entry visa of Singapore is quite easy for Indian citizens and that's why many of us take the Singapore multiple entry visa so we can avail the visa on arrival facility in the Philippines.. The duration of a Singapore multiple entry visa is of 2 months and 2 years, more or less, and also the visa fees of a Singapore multiple entry visa is around 1900-2500 INR, which is quite cheap.. So you guys can obviously travel to the Philippines by taking a Multiple entry visa of Singapore..

Where to get the Visa on Arrival

Once you have arrived at the Airport in the Philippines and have all those 6 requirements for the Philippines Visa on Arrival then you are good to go, After coming out from your plane you will see many counters there in the Airport as Visa on Arrival as shown in this picture..

Once you see this kind of counter then you must go there and get a Visa on Arrival Form, and you must fill the information which is asked in the VOA form.. Once you will be done filling it then go there to submit it and once you submit the form, you will be sent to immigration officers and they will re-check your documents and bookings and once everything will be fine then they will stamp the Visa on your passport then you are free to travel in the Philippines..

Maximum Duration of Stay in the Philippines

So the question is, for how long you can stay in the Philippines so here is a disadvantage of a Philippines visa on arrival that you can only stay in the Philippines for a maximum of 14 days on a visa on arrival, however, you can extend it to 7 more days means overall you can stay in the Philippines for 21 days but most of the peoples face trouble to extend the visa, on the other hand on the sticker visa, tourist can stay for up to 59 days in the Philippines..

Visa on Arrival Fees

Guys, There is no visa fees for the Philippines Visa on Arrival for Indian citizens and its absolutely free for us..

Some questions that the immigration officer may ask you

Guys, There are a lot of questions that the officer can ask you but here I will tell you the frequently asked questions by the immigration officers for the Visa on Arrival..

Why did you come to the Philippines?

You must say, I came here for tourism Purposes and if you have friends there and you went there to meet them then tell the officer you have friends then maybe the officer will ask you to call your friend and he will talk to your friends and will stamp the visa..

When you will go back from the Philippines?

Here, you must tell them the date that when you will leave the Philippines and will come back to your home country..

Where you will stay in the Philippines?

They will surely ask you these questions that where you will stay in the Philippines and here you should tell them the name and location of your hotel in which you will be staying in the Philippines, they will already be knowing that where you will stay because they will be holding your hotel bookings but still they will ask you and you have to answer them alright..

These were the most frequently asked questions by the Philippines immigration officers for the Visa on arrival for Indian passport holders, It's not so hard alright, they will just ask you normal questions and you will answer them easily..

Things not to do while getting a Visa on Arrival of the Philippines

If you are going as a tourist then you must dress up as a tourist, and if you are going as a tourist and dressing up like a businessman then you will be deported, the most simple clothes for a tourist is just shorts, a normal T-shirt, casual shoes and a hat with a small bag and backpack, you must look like a tourist..

Do not Argue with the Officers or with anyone in the Airport, even if it's their fault still don't argue or fight them, be kind because officers have the power to deport you easily..

Don't be nervous, don't feel unconfident, don't feel suffocated while standing in from of the officer..

If they reject your visa on arrival then also you should not fight them, but you can ask them why you have been rejected and can try to talk to the senior officers but never fight them because you are overseas and anything can happen to you guys..

Things to do while getting the Visa on Arrival

As in the above paragraph, I said, Dress like a tourist, So you must do it alright.. They must feel like you went there for tourism purposes..

Be kind, Be Polite and Gentle once you come out of your flight because officers will notice your behaviour all the time and if they would have noticed you arguing with someone before the immigration then they will surely reject you..

Be confident, Look Smart, Don't speak more than what is being asked to you, do not try to be so friendly with the officers, Don't think that they will give you the visa if you will try to be friendly with them and will crack jokes to them, Not everyone does this but there are still some smart peoples who act over smart, So, Don't do it..
